This year marks a major milestone: 60 years since the first community health centers opened their doors to provide care where none existed.

From a grassroots movement in 1965 to a nationwide safety net today, CHCs now serve nearly 34 million people across over 17,000 locations .

💙 Why CHCs Matter

Community Health Centers/FQHCs are more than clinics. They are anchors in the communities they serve—offering preventive care, chronic disease management, behavioral health support, and wraparound services that address social drivers of health.

According to NACHC:

• 3 million patients received diabetes care in 2023—70% reached A1c control
• 5.7 million were treated for high blood pressure—65% reached control
• 9 million received obesity care and counseling

That’s not just access. That’s prevention in action.
